2015 YPLC Fall Gala

On Thursday, October 15, the Young Patrons of Lincoln Center (YPLC) host their biggest night of the year, honoring emerging artists: Sammy Miller and the Congregation as well as Roberta Colindrez, Joel Perez and Emily Skeggs from the cast of FUN HOME.

Join us for a glamorous evening featuring cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music and dancing, all in honor of one of New York's top cultural icons: Lincoln Center.

Funds raised from the YPLC Fall Gala support arts education initiatives on and off Lincoln Center's campus, which in turn guarantees the future of the next generation of creative minds.

Young Patrons of Lincoln Center Artist Honorees

YPLC Annual Fall Gala honors emerging artists who are making unique and meaningful contributions to their creative field.

Sammy Miller and the Congregation

A native of Los Angeles, Sammy Miller has become known for his unique maturity and relentless focus on making music that "feels good" as a drummer, singer and bandleader. At the ripe old age of 23, Sammy has performed/recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Christian Scott, Johnny O'Neal, and Naomi Shelton & The Gospel Queens—at venues across the globe, including the White House, Lincoln Center, and the Hollywood Bowl. In the Jazz World, Sam has been recognized with a number of honors, including the Los Angeles Jazz Society's Shelly Manne Award, the Dolo Coker Scholarship, and the Los Angeles Music Center's Spotlight Award. As a clinician, Sammy has taught throughout the globe independently as well as with The Monk Institute, The Juilliard School, and most recently Jazz at Lincoln Center's Jazz For Young People's Touring Program.

Upon completing his Master's at The Juilliard School, Sammy now resides in New York City where he performs regularly with his ensemble, Sammy Miller and The Congregation.
