OVERVIEW

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA) is the world’s leading presenter of superb artistic programming, a national leader in arts and education, and manager of the Lincoln Center campus, comprised of 11 resident organizations, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, and New York Philharmonic. LCPA’s Institutional Marketing team seeks an enthusiastic and motivated intern to support its Lincoln Center Kids program and family marketing at Lincoln Center. This position will support the Manager, Family Programming as well as other members of the Institutional Marketing team. He or she will assist with implementing marketing and outreach strategies, conducting research, maintaining tracking and reporting, as well as representing Lincoln Center at events throughout the internship term.

By attending meetings both within the team and across departments, the intern will develop an understanding of the broader Institutional Marketing strategy and how to align their efforts with the strategic goals of LC Kids and the institution at large. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in gaining experience in new audience development and community outreach at a major cultural institution.

Internship tasks will include:

Assisting with planning, producing, and day-of logistics for LC Kids events
Helping to facilitate key elements of LC Kids events such as running activities or serving as the membership representative
Representing Lincoln Center and LC Kids at events
Updating and maintaining the LC Kids member database
Researching events and partners for grassroots marketing outreach
Coordinating logistics for events where grassroots marketing efforts will take place (e.g. Lincoln Center performances, street fairs, special events)
Additional tasks to support the Institutional Marketing team as assigned

Qualifications:

This internship might be right for you if you are:

Enrolled undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate (May 2017 or later)
Able to bring your own perspective to the team and the work involved
Passionate about the performing arts and/or marketing and outreach
Energic, able to show initiative, and creativity
A strong communicator and have strong organizational skills
Comfortable interacting with a broad audience, internal staff, members of the public, and children
Able to represent Lincoln Center at public events
Flexible and with a collaborative attitude
Able to multi-task and prioritize competing assignments

Approximate dates January 2018 to May 2018. Expected work hours will be 20 hours a week, with occasional evening and weekend events.

This is a paid internship ($13 per hour).
